Community Leaders
Leadership North Fulton is a
nine-month program sponsored by the Greater North Fulton Chamber
of Commerce. Leadership North Fulton identifies and develops
leaders by promoting community awareness, instilling civic
responsibility, and building relationships. This leadership
program selects individuals from various backgrounds and provides
an environment that develops their leadership skills.
Committed Leaders
Individuals selected for Leadership North Fulton commit to
attend monthly class days and other outside functions, and
participate in a group service project. Applications to Leadership
North Fulton are subject to review by the Membership Committee to
assure the broadest cross-section of class members and optimal
class size.
Building Leaders
In an effort to build community leaders, Leadership North
Fulton uses a variety of techniques including workshops by trained
facilitators, panel-discussions, study team and on-site visits.
Class members learn to enhance their leadership skills in the
areas of organizational and group dynamics, conflict mediation,
communication, diversity, change management, and others. Started
in 1989, more than 500 leaders have graduated from the program.
Serving the Community
Participants become familiar with the political, social and
economic issues prevalent in North Fulton today. By introducing
class members to areas of opportunities, they can use their
leadership skills to make a difference in the community.
Shaping North Fulton
North Fulton, one of the fastest growing communities in
Georgia, is facing complex infrastructure issues, a diverse
political landscape, and growing economic opportunities.
Participants in Leadership North Fulton are introduced to these
issues by visiting government agencies, economic development
centers, judicial and detention facilities, non-profit agencies,
educational institutions, and health care centers.
